Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Office - Learning Program Files (MHS)

Files documenting two programs in which MSU was a participant. The first, the Cooperative Assessment of Experimental Learning (CAEL), was sponsored by Educational Testing Service and studied competency-based learning programs (1975-1979), Its records consist of applications, correspondence, reports, memos, and reference materials and cover such topics as field research, operational models, and faculty , institutional, and professional development.

The second, a consortium of MSU and Anoka-Ramsey, Inver Hills, Lakewood, Metro, North Hennepin, and Normandale state junior colleges, was formed to devise and implement inter-institutional, inter-system competency-based educational (CAE) programs (CONSORTIUM, 1973-1976). Its records include the project proposal (1973j, files regarding CONSORTIUM students, correspondence, and draft and final project reports (1976).
