Biographical / Historical
The Publications office is among the oldest administrative divisions at the University. For more than 40 years, its central role in disseminating information for the institution makes it one of the most significant collections in the University Archives. Run by Susan Amos Palmer for most of its existence, the collection documents and illustrates Metropolitan State University's transformation from a "university without walls" to a center of higher education in Minnesota. Following administrative reorganization in 2015, the Publications Office became part of the Marketing Department.

The Calendar series includes an accession from the Minnesota Historical Society (Accession #985-210) that contained a complete set of Calendar from 1973-1985. Since the Publications Office was responsible for collecting the set acquired by MHS as well as the set acquired in 2015, these sets have been interfiled to create one set that covers the broadest chronological range. Some folders contain overlapping dates.
